Industrial Training @ IOCL Barauni.(A true love story)

We wanted it more for certificate than for knowledge or experience. As we have done our first industrial training(in 2nd yr) @ TATA steel, so we have to do this one (during the summer vacation of 3rd yr) some where else other than Jamshedpur. So we decided to go to IOCL for this training(we includes me n three of my friends Don, Kattu & the third lets call him 'Swarthi'). Actually Swarthi proposed this idea of IOCL as it was near to his home and he was having some relatives employee over there, so the entry was also simple for us. So it was decided that Swarthi will call us as soon as he makes the arrangement for our stay and entry in to IOCL refinery fitting to his suitability and easiness. Our summer vacation started on April 24th of 2008.We all packed and reached our home by 27th, but Kattu as usual stayed back in the college for writing make up exams.

It was 30th April and I was desperately waiting for Swarthi's cal, but when it didn't come, I called him on 1st of may and came to know that he was simply sleeping and had done nothing for our summer training. Somehow he managed to get one of his relatives (our God father) agreed for our training and entry in the refinery. He agreed to meet us on 9th as Swarthi called all of us on 9th to his home.

SECOND PART OF THE LONGEST WEEK OF MY LIFE

The real importance of a thing you come to know only when its not with you. I was desperate to attend the classes, the same class which we just hated to go and attend.

I woke up at 5 o'clock in that morning took a bath for half an hour, combed my hairs for next 15 minutes, wore milky white shirt and blue pant and reached the class half an hour before. I opened the doors and windows of the classroom, switched on all lights and fans and waited patiently till the next person came. Everybody greeted me like a leader coming out of jail. I was unable to decide weather its a moment of pride or embarrassment.

Blackboard had never looked so beautiful before. I took down every word teacher said or wrote in that class. I was so happy that day that nobody can imagine without being under same circumstances himself. It felt like I would have got another life, escaping narrowly from death.

But my problems were not coming to an end. During break between 10 to 10:15 I saw chief warden and wished him. He told me "you have to work hard before the issue settles". "What are you saying sir? Issue has not settled yet?" I asked in somewhat disbelief, he smiled and walked away saying go and meet your H.O.D.
